ay... look. there are only so many chord progressions that can be created and sound good at the same time. so yeah, when you listen to songs, there are often parts that remind you of other songs and that is really common when you are listening to songs with guitars.

@philkapune I agree that the musical idea used for the verse could be considered somewhat similar. It's the same rhythm, tempo, key and starts with the same two chords, but in my opinion that doesn't matter as long as everything else is so different. My point is that it's not plagiarism if you use the same chord progression, and only that, but when you on top of that uses the same melody/riff, it definitely is plagiarism, and even if you use different chords, but the same melody:)

Its the exact same musical idea is used with very similar musical elements...but, on the other hand, pretty much any successful artist does this all the time with their music, because most of their knowledge will be gathered from their inspirations. I was there -My father was a cop in Providence - a sergeant and my gilfriend at the time got to go backstage as my father had the "detail." A group of great guys who were super rockers. They weren't much for publicity stunts and outrageous behavior like the Stones so their "acclaim" factor suffered but their music speaks for itself . Thank you for this wonderful post and man did it bring back some precious memories of a time when great was great, good was good and crap was crap (read rap) .

@MrMaxx420 This game is called Hellgate London, as it says in the video title. It started out as a series of books that spawned a game. The game had an excellent concept, and story. But the game itself was not executed well in my opinion.It was basically a huge grind fest with very few rewards. (A personal dissapointment is that when you start as a Templar, you don't start with the armor you see in these videos. Which isn't Canon with the books. As each Templar forged their own personal armor.)

@bootsamou I agree- I'm not a big fan of romantic movies, but I really like Brief Encounter. The last 5 minutes are so heart wrenching, that they didnt get to even say goodbye to one another. And not because of a cataclysmic event, but just because the wrong person arrived at the wrong time- felt very realistic, to me, at least/ and I was born in the 80's!

This is fantastic... The more times I watch this, the more hilarious lines I find. The mincepie bit is so so hilarious. The original is one of the best-written scripts ever. So moving. Check out the movie.

If you like this you must type in Harry Enfield Norbert Smith and find his own parody. It'sa mock documentary of a hack English actor. The version of Hamlet as rewritten by Noel Coward is also good value. Thanks for posting, I love Victoria Wood but I hadn't seen this.

Not Michael Parkinson, but the ever-superb Duncan Preston playing Stanley Holloway in the original film of Brief Encounter. DP plays him as "standard yorkshireman 628B", for which read "Michael Parkinson". This is one of the GREAT parodies of classic cinema. The whole feel of thew film is absolutely 100%
