If you want to spend the extra $1,800 on veggies, and run them through the Omega juicer, or centrifugal juicers, then you will throw out about $800 worth of veggies in the trash due to the extremely damp pulp. You're wrong about running them through a second time. I've done that, and it causes HIGH FRICTION and starts steaming!!! And only a few DROPS end up coming out anyway!
By: smyrnachiropractor. on 21 Feb 10, 00:15:10
I have not but would like to hear if anyone has.
By: smyrnachiropractor. on 21 Feb 10, 00:14:39
Thanks for that suggestion. I now do it and it works a treat!
By: smyrnachiropractor. on 21 Feb 10, 00:13:47
My experience with centrifugal juicers: extremely noisy, incapable of juicing wheat grass, mediocre for veggies, pretty good for fruit. Regarding the bacteria comment, I'm baffled. Most people I know wash their dishes in a sink.
By: smyrnachiropractor. on 21 Feb 10, 00:09:46
I tried the suggestion of others to put the pulp through a second time and it comes out nearly dry. Maybe not as dry as from a Norwalk but I'll save my $1,800 and put it towards veggies. At best the Norwalk might squeeze 10% more juice. We're talking at absolute most saving $.50 per day, $180 per year, or a ten year pay back. The Norwalk is great but the payoff is too long for me.
By: smyrnachiropractor. on 21 Feb 10, 00:05:04
Thanks for the comments. After posting many people said to put the juice through again, as you have and it comes out almost dry. Definitely better than wringing it out by hand. FYI, the plunger is upside down because the wheat grass sticks to it when I use the fat end. When my kids juice fruit they use the fat end. Peace.

Centrifugal juicers are easier to use , clean , and faster than these where you have to chop everything into small pieces . If you want to do wheat grass , buy the little hand crank system it is more effecient than ANY masticating juicer and costs under 50 bucks ! Masticating juicers are best for garbage dumps , kidding , some people make them work .
By: SoulOrganic. on 11 Feb 10, 15:29:52
This Juicer is not $2000, the Norwalk is, norwalk is the best if you want to make a full time job out of it. Or you can go for the next best things, this is a very, very good start.
By: SoulOrganic. on 11 Feb 10, 15:16:27
If you cant get enough juice out of the pulp, then put it back in to the machine and it will re-work it. By the way notice how he is using the plunger the wrong way round, I would not advise this. Great machine if used often could add 5 years to life. Fact. Peace
By: rrreger. on 06 Feb 10, 18:35:49
I completely agree with you, except for that part telling that its going to prove me being m0ron.The thing is,not everyone drives 40k cars with 5k rims, vast majority of this planets population cant even afford to buy decent food to start with. As for people like me - i dont live in US and A so couldnt care less for Norwalk, since i cant afford it, 2K+ for juicer, no way. So id rather get one for 200 bucks and dont loose out much. I suppose VAST majority of those into juicing simply cant afford1.
By: gpriore. on 05 Feb 10, 18:36:22
Ok, here you go. I'm gonna give you the response that will PROVE that YOU are actually the m0r0n. Why is it that I see people EVERY SINGLE DAY that live in 'section-8' housing & live off food-stamps, and those same exact people are driving $40,000+ cars that are upgraded with $5,000+ rims????? Can you explain that????? People are willing to spend THOUSANDS on stupid meaningless shit, but when it comes to protecting their health, they PRETEND they have no money!! --Take THAT to the bank!!
By: rrreger. on 05 Feb 10, 12:08:11
Yeah, give me 2000$ and im gonna get one myself, m0r0n...
By: gpriore. on 26 Jan 10, 04:58:08
This Juicer is just horrible! And here are the reasons: By just watching this video demonstration, you can see how much of the produce is actually going to waste. It is obvious that the pulp is extremely damp. Go ahead and guess what is going to happen to all the liquid that is still in the pulp. It will go straight into the trash! This is the reason why the Norwalk Juicer is truly the only REAL resolution. The Norwalk is indeed the best POSSIBLE Juicer!

I had a centrifugal juicer for few years, which I got for 20 $s at Odd Jobs (unfortunately they closed the store soon after) and it would give me just about the same amount of juice or more if I put so much stuff in it. Also, the size, the exterior, the time, the process is much more pleasing. The pulp with this omega juicer comes out too juicy. I am not sure cleaning it in that sink is the best way to do it too -- lots of bacteria.

The new omega single auger vert juicer is amazing ! I had a samson single auger and I had to get the omega vert. Check it out on youtube.
By: brendandylanmaloney. on 01 Dec 09, 15:33:16
You can put the pulp back through the machine as many times as you want to to get the extra juice out of the pulp.

Nice video. Anyone ever use an omega 8004-8006 for coconut cream/milk? Wonder how it comes out.
By: StarFlower99654. on 12 Jun 09, 01:46:55
I have the Omega 8003 and love it. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality juicer whether they intend to juice wheatgrass or not. I also use it to make nut butters, mix veggies, nuts & seeds into meatless 'meatloaves'. It can also be used for many other meal prep procedures. Thanks for a great video!

i really want a juicer like this. i have a breville.
By: dannorocks247. on 23 Mar 09, 01:52:33
Thanks, I'll try running the pulp though again. I prefer using the small end of the plunger with wheatgrass, because the grass tends to stick to the sides of the chute. The wide end completely fills the feed chute and so allows no room to wiggle the sticking pieces free.
By: VisorBlue. on 22 Mar 09, 23:51:42
I have the chrome version of the Omega juicer and juice 2-3 oz. of wheatgrass a day. I just run the pulp through the unit again. BTW, you're using the plunger upside down.
By: smyrnachiropractor. on 29 Jan 09, 20:45:28
I understand your concern, as it doesn't look like much juice, but I wasn't trying to make a lot, as wheatgrass is quite concentrated. You wouldn't want to drink more than a shot glass. My family likes it diluted hence the cukes, celery, etc. If I were making vegetable juice w/o wheatgrass, I would have made a lot more. It only takes a few additional minutes to juice a couple of cucumbers and celery. It's less than 10 minutes to prep, juice and clean up, and well worth it. Good luck!
By: ben777neb. on 28 Jan 09, 00:19:23
hmmm i just purchased a very similar juicer to this on the net, but having seen how long it took for you to make half a cups worth of juice i'm thinking... i wonder if i can cancel it :(
