You said it all when you left the tunnel saying you had no energy left and then that you couldn't take the train. The people in the cars may have taken slightly longer but they left with close to the same energy that they entered with and were able to continue on their way to wherever they were going after getting out, whereas you were left stranded. I'd say that's a win for the drivers and a fail for the bicyclists.

Everyone compares indie rock bands with deep voices to Joy division & synthpop bands with deep voices to depeche mode. they set the standard for many bands for new styles of music. i hate people that say they sound like this or that. who cares. its still great music. they are fans of those bands anyway & can relate to them. let them put out music influenced by them. do we not love music like joy division & dm? these new bands are putting out the music we loved that stopped during the early 90's

I count myself lucky that I saw them live in London 2008. Just me, a 40 year old guy from New Zealand in a crowd of 40 year old men, all contemplating the mid life crisis we've had or were about to have & that Blue Nile have always been there & always been great. Oh, there was also 2 women in the audience. And one bloke had his mum along as well. Dunno what they were thinking about. Probably the huge number of folically challenged concert goers.

Why even bother comparing,..Staley and Cobain - two very different artists from the same era...where the difference really lies is in the fact that Layne was a bad-ass frontman and lyrical genius, Jerry played the riffs and wrote most of the stuff, Layne put his touch on it (one that can't be replaced), Cobain wrote it, played it and sang it, a one man show. Could Kurt have played a Cantrell riff while wailing an AIC song like Layne? No, but neither Layne nor Jerry could perform like Kurt...

i agree with this guy except this necrOothic you don't seem to know what the lead singer for Alice in Chains actual name. Its not stane. Try the Layne Staley. musical genius and master of harmony. one of the greatest vocalist to ever live. Kurt Cobain and Nirvana toured with Alice in Chains on several occasions. actually nirvana was purely kurt cobains image , kurt had a shit voice, but much in the way of bob dylan was a genius lyrisist and song writer. lane stanley is a trained vocalist and can actually project and hit high notes, unlike kurt cobains monotone mumbles.. And Stone temple Pilots are not even in the grundge catagory they are purely rock and roll and after 20 years have not changed there style or sound.

@mastrokid Sorry. I've seen Laura a few times in UK but I thought that performance let her down. Yes, I work sometimes as an extra in both UK and Swedish productions of Wallander. Perhaps you could check out Linda Ternheim? Very good most of the time but then again, sometimes................... but you can't be good all of the time eh?
