You guys know what? I didn't think the movie was too bad. I'm a DB/Z/GT fan as well. I understand that the characters were extremely different to what may have been anticipated but I think the cast was picked according to their ability to succeed in a sequel movie of DBZ. To be honest, this was aimed at western society so Goku had to be white along with the western surroundings. I didn't quite like the special effects either but the movie overall was great because making DB real was hard.

@agent47rafas i agree with you on the most but there is no vegeta because this movie is based on Dragonball DBZ. Picollo was evil in dragonball and turned good during the course of the first saga in DBZ. And not only is roshi asian but all the characters should be as dragonball/Z is an anime. First the casting was all wrong should have went like this: they should have started with the Frieza part as the first movie, Russell Wong should be goku, jet li plays frieza and the guy from rush hour three who played kenji as vegeta, they could have even went a different route where the fighters are fighting and reminiscing about goji as they fight only for him to show at the very end to set up the second movie. So many possibilities wasted due to lack of casting and greed.

I could have directed this movie better, hell a 8 year old kid who watches dbz could have done a better job directing this. What the hell? @Shika511 well first of all when you see goku in dragonball you dont know exactly how long hes been on the earth. see if you hear vegetta at the end of dbz he says saiyan keep there childhood body for a very longtime and then they slowly growup and then they look like in there 20's and they will keep that body for a really long time. so in dragonball that could be at the end of his childhood. Look at him in the beginning of gt hes 60 something years old and hasnt aged abit same with vegetta

@Alienrun Please i'm willing to watch how it isn't as good as it seemed. Some other anime choices would be appreciated. While not my favorite, it's defiantly one of them. Instead of disliking something because it is old, you should be appreciating it because it was able to stand up even to newer animes. I can't think of any other animes that are 200+ episodes that I enjoyed watching as much (i got bored with one piece around 150, Ippo sadly isn't up to that and well shinchan is tough not in eng)

@xXRAWRrangerXx its not exactly remake, its a remastered version, back then in the late 80's to 90's, animation at that time have alot of color errors, and sound quality isn't too good (such as the hissing sounds) and its quite normal for that kind of time. So they remaster the long draggy of useless animation, color correction the errors, and redub the voices of characters, and Yes Remaster is quite a good thing for dragon ball z, I'm a big fan of dragon ball btw

@ayman1006 Fans wanted things like DB again, so they turned Goku into a kid and searched for the dragonballs again. Then people hated it and wanted DBZ again, so they put Baby and let the Z fighters handle it. Then people wanted Goku to be the real hero, so they had to out class Goku even more (Super Saiyan 4) so he could be the true hero

Directed the film retard....the Japanese gave 20th Century Fox the rights to make a movie because they knew they couldn't do it (Media wise the Japanese are only good at making Animes and Video Games) ....don't get me wrong i mean the movie was a total failure in general (everyone hated it!) because it wasn't the right time to make an anime so intense and powerful into a live action movie! Maybe in 10 years they should try again.
