i appreciate what dove is trying to do, but i think the message at the end of the video was a bit "off." our perception of beauty isn't distorted, there's a reason we find the made-over version of the model more beautiful than the original. we find her smoothed skin, larger eyes, thicker hair, and plumper lips more attractive because they are signs of feminity and health. i think our perception of what's REALISTIC is distorted, not our perception of what's beautiful.

This makes me sick. I grew up second in line to an older sister whom everyone thought as beautiful, and I was ugly. This is so damaging. This lady in the video looks more human at the beginning of the video. She looks like an animal at the end. I'm glad I'm ugly, I guess.

@norma75 True beauty comes from the inside, and external beauty comes in many different forms. There is no "this person is prettier than that person". The media are always trying to tell us how we should look (thin, long hair, big boobs, perfect skin) but its all total rubbish. look around, at your friends, family, collegues and find something beautiful in them all and you will start to see how beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.

I have realized by really looking at people that I'm not ugly. Women I found pretty I began to notice had some 'imperfection' that I saw in myself. Suddenly I realized...I'm not at all ugly. Ugliness is something we feel. Other people project all kinds of things on us. We're mean, lazy, weak, or lack tack. And often people say things which we cannot see basis for and we simply disregard it. It's when we allow those peoples opinion to matter to us that it shapes how we see ourselves.

is that actually true? nope, didnt think so look at what they promote in AXE/'' hot women'' look at what they promote in the avarage dove commercials, ''beautify yourself women'' if women are actually beautiful the way they are, why do they have to beautify themselves and use products to ''help'' their beauty? face it and accept it, it's all another way to get women to buy buy buy... and men of course. as much as i love the dove beauty campaign ads, i know the truth and wont ignore it.

I think that the people hung up on the looks are these people in the "Dove Self-Esteem Fund" They are the ones pumping it into these kids that they are not attractive how many kids that are the age of the children in this clip even care how they look!!!
