Surely the most epic TV series ever made. Excellent story, amazing cast, beautiful music, the whole setting if the series is brilliant. I don't understand why most people are so narrow-minded about the show. It had science-fiction, drama, action, mystery, a bit of comedy to soften up for everyday life, a space opera no less. This show, for me personally, is a benchmark for all space based TV series. May there be more TV series that embody the soul of what the authors of BSG had created.

Bear McCreary is a grea composer no doubt. But old style 'middleage' fairy tale sounds fit better to the ancient magic of the core story plot. Stu Phillips original theme had it. Altogether with old style military drums. I like the kodo drums in McCrearys interpretation, and his lyrical themes, but finally he went away from the old magic. It's a matter of taste; but for me it's not the battle part of BS which finally makes the story such a good one, it's the stars. Exploration and wonders.

@workingclassbum I agree with you on bringing back firefly, and BSG was so awesome up until the 3rd season. It still had its good moments when it stuck to the storyline, and I watched the show up until the last episode which had an awesome battle, but it had a shitty ending. "God did it." "Kara was brought back from the dead by someone that doesn't like to be called God." It could have been so much better.

Anyone else get the feeling that this show is just making it all up as they go along like some afternoon soap-opera? I mean comon, the so-called 'spin-off' sounds more like an outright soap-opera or even 'alternate universe terminator clone' than a sci-fi series. Now they say even the die-hard fans and experts will be wrong on the ending. Everyone I know stopped watching seasons ago but will watch a copy of the series ending literally just for a laugh. Frak me, I hate soap-operas lol.

Cylons were not very good at improvising. Most of what they learned they learned from humans. Raiders carried missles depending on their mission. Their technology while more advanced never deviated from human technology in principle. That is why their weapons systems, navigational systems, and communications systems were all interchangable with Colonial systems almost like upgrades. Cyclon jump drives were better than human drives, but could work in Colonial ships.

"Than I saw her face, now I'm a believer!" ... these words from a certain song (can't recall the name) come up in my head when ever I think of this show. After I've watched the last episode I know that all toy robots I have from when I was a kid must be stripped of their batteries forever :P... Jokes on the side, this was truly an exceptional show in every view. It had both dark and light moments and has often touched the subject of "What it means to be human". It was truly worth watching.

Hmm, based on their eyes, im guessing KITT is a cylon? --- This show stars on friday on channel six here in sweden, im really excited about it because channel six have something called 'Sci-Fi friday' which means they show science fiction shows every friday. Lately they've only shown Smallville, and i dont consider that Real sci-fi. This however, includes human space colonies, evil robots from outer space, and exceptionally designed fighter planes. Looks like a super show.

I was never a big sci-fi fan. But that all stopped when a friend told me to watch this show. I got hooked straight away, and saw the whole thing (every fraking special as well) in a mere 2 and a half weeks. This show has one of the best cast-rosters, writingstaff, storyline, plot etc etc. It's got it all, and I strongly recommend everyone to watch it.

@RubenKremer SG1 and Atlantis are definitely that way, I agree. I am a huge fan of the Stargate series, and after discovering the new Galactica series I agree that they are more popcorn entertainment. But I think Stargate Universe rivals this series in drama and depth, so not the entire franchise is just "popcorn entertainment"

After the Battlestar Atlantia was destroyed the Galactica pulled out of the Fleet of Warships. later on it is mentiond that no other Battlestars survived. can it be argued that at least one or two other Battlestar commanders would have ordered a retreat or an escape involving a Jump to Lightspeed ? What was the Service Record of the Battlestar Atlantia ? To be the Presidential Battlestar she must have had a Distinguished War Record as well as a long list of Distinguished Commanders. She met her Fate too early in the series. Seeing her Destroyed in the "Pearl Harbor" Style attack on the Fleet of Colonial Battlestars in the First episode of the Original Series was Gut wrenching.

Not seen the plan yet but BSG (new one!) is f**king excellent.Best thing on TV in yrs. Its funny to think that a scifi show dealt with things more realistically than a so - called reality show. People say the show was too dark but it was just real. How anyone can say the original was better is beyond me, its just so camp. I didnt like it when I was ten. Truly an amazing piece. It sets the mood of the base ship scenes so wonderfully - enchanting and yet at the same time almost creepy. And totally evokes Moonlight Sonata for me, which Bear indicated he was trying to do (I believe Ronald Moore had asked him to compose something similar). This game was the biggest, most exciting board game experience in my life. The struggle to save humanity was intense. It almost felt like a natural extension to the show that I love. What added depth was how me as admiral Saul Tigh and my friend playing president Laura Roslin really played the game "in character". I must admit by the end I was rather hammered from all the whisky I was chucking in imitation of Tigh, but that final drunken risky jump was what saved us all. Cant wait to play again.

This game is so tense. In some ways too much. I get to where I am very upset at the other people playing, which can be a downer, especially when it can take many hours to play. The fact that you feel they are supposed to be on your team, but you are constantly forced to make bad decisions, is genious. It's very rare that you are happy with something you did in the game. Sometimes it can be a bit too much, but it echoes the feeling of the show very well.

Kicker is even then the Trek factions would just be spectators since they cannot contend with that kind of firepower and speed. @ZurBar8 Yeah lol, the Reapers are pretty creepy. They created the Collectors and we saw how easily it destroyed the SR-1 Normady. The SR-2 also tried evading the Collector ships Particle Beam too which suggests even that can't affort to take a hit from it. ME 3 is going to be pretty good.

@NANOFORGE Sovereign,the vanguard for the Reaper fleet, boasted that their numbers would "darken the sky of every world". I know he was somewhat exaggerating, but when I saw the fleet at the end of ME2 I felt shivers down my spine. I know it's just a video game, but the very thought that Sovereign may not have been exaggerating at all scares the crap outta me. lol But still, there may be only hundreds of Reapers, if not thousands. At least, that is what I hope.

@ZurBar8 The Reapers are suppost to be the most advanced civilization in Mass Effect that we know of and they created the Collectors. I'd say one of two Reapers would solo a Federation world like Earth. In ME1 we see how much damage Sovereign a single Reaper did and how hard it was to stop, at the end of ME2 we see an entire fleet of them heading towards the milkyway....

@NANOFORGE Actually, if I remember correctly, the Omega-4 Relay required a Reaper IFF to safely navigate the galactic core. Every other ship that went through got torn to shreds. But it is true that the Collecter base withstood the effects of the galactic core on it's own. So Reaper ships can survive the galactic core on their own, but other species currently can not.. If the Codex entries aren't enough for you, check out the Mass Effect Wikia. It is a bit more detailed. Good luck.

@NANOFORGE Actually, I think that may be correct. When the Normandy SR-2 was passing through the Omega-4 Relay the Eezo reactor "lit up like a christmas tree". If you have the time, there are a few Mass Effect Codex entries here on YouTube. Check them out. Not only does it contain some cool info on the ME Universe, but it helps the ME-verse feel more alive.

@NANOFORGE During normal flight that is true, though I always felt the inertials were the Element Zero fields that help ME ships travel at FTL speeds in the first place. Although, I don't really know what I'm talking about when it come to ME science(or lack there of). All I really know about Eezo is that it can theoreticly accelerate a simple paint chip to speeds where it can impact with the same force as a nuclear bomb. Although I doubt it would have the same explosive results.

@ZurBar8 One thing about ME is physics or the lack of them. Their ships don't even have inertials which is why you have Joker constantly telling the crew to hold on when he's preforming a manouver. If they would of jummed to FTL the crew would just be splatted against the ships inards and inertial's prevent any of that.
